Southgate

This garden was designed as a collaborative venture with the clients to create an elegant, edible, sense-filled experience to complement the Spanish Colonial Revival summer home built in the late 1920s. It blends a southern design sensibility with classic California living and creative use of all spaces.

The garden sits among the original live oak groves and a mature southern magnolia with additional plantings of fruitless olive and specimen Japanese maples, fruit and flowering trees and sculpture. The garden ‘rooms’ allow for both intimate and large gatherings in a private, tranquil setting.
